During 1985, with over 16 years of extensive experience under his belt with three major construction companies, Richard Fisher founded R. J. Fisher Construction Co., Inc. In order to set himself apart from the competition, he utilized several successful management techniques.

He began by bringing in people who shared his goals and with whom he shared a strong rapport. Most of the project managers, field superintendents, carpenters, laborers and clerical staff selected were good friends and proven construction professionals who had worked with Richard for many years.

Secondly, Richard utilized the best group of subcontractors and material suppliers in the area. They lived up to his expectations, working within budget and time constraints. In turn, R. J. Fisher Construction Co., Inc. has constructed projects for at least fifteen of their subcontractors and materials suppliers through the years.

Aware of the importance of a good banking, bonding and insurance company relationship, Richard developed a close relationship with major banking institutions. He has also established an excellent relationship with his bonding and surety company, allowing him to pursue multimillion dollar projects requiring performance bonds from the general contractor. R. J. Fisher Construction Co., Inc. has some of the lowest rates for bonding and insurance coverage in the industry.

A crucial ingredient in the success of the company has been Richard’s personal involvement in every project. Frequently, the owners of larger construction companies are not involved in the various projects. Their interest being primarily in the "bottom line," leaving major decisions and problem solving to the project managers and superintendents. From the outset, Richard and his people have worked as a team, and he feels strongly about retaining his personal day to day involvement with every project.

Richard established four goals to make his company successful and create a good reputation, and maintain direction and focus in the future: 1) Deliver what and when we promised, 2) Complete the work with better quality, 3) Perform the work faster than our competition, 4) Construct the work at the lowest possible cost to our client.

Now, with the company’s many years of constructing hundreds of successful projects in this region, they have accomplished their goals of 1985.
